Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 1 pound large raw shrimp peeled, deveined, and thawed
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 garlic clove finely grated
  • 1 teaspoon sweet paprika or Kashmiri chile powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Lemon wedges and cilantro for serving

Method

Instructions
  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F. If using wooden skewers, confirm the appliance manual permits them and trim to fit.
  2. Pat shrimp very dry. Mix butter, ginger, garlic, paprika, cumin, garam masala, salt, and lemon; toss with shrimp.
  3. Thread shrimp loosely onto short skewers, or arrange them directly in one layer in the basket.
  4. Air-fry 4 minutes, turn, then cook 2 to 4 minutes more until opaque and 145°F at the thickest part.
  5. Serve immediately with lemon and cilantro.

Notes

  • Do not use long skewers that contact the heating element.
  • Never thaw shrimp at room temperature.
  • Arrange skewers in a single layer with airflow space between them so the shrimp roast rather than steam.
  • Carryover is brief, so serve at once.
